FAQs about Luxury Yacht Charter in Menorca:
How many days are ideal for a yacht charter in Menorca?
For a yacht charter in Menorca, five to seven days is the sweet spot. That gives you enough time to enjoy both coasts without rushing, from Mahón and Es Grau to Fornells, Ciutadella, Cala Galdana, and Binibequer.
If someone only wants a long weekend, Menorca also works well for a three-day charter because the island is compact and the main coves sit within easy reach. A full week still feels far more relaxed and complete.
Which ports are recommended for superyachts in Menorca?
For superyachts in Menorca, Port Mahón is the strongest base. It is one of the largest and deepest harbours in the Mediterranean, with moorings for more than 200 boats up to 90 metres, while Marina Port Mahón is positioned for large yachts inside the natural harbour.
Ciutadella is useful for west coast access, but it is better suited to smaller superyachts, with services for vessels up to 30 metres. Fornells and Addaia work better as secondary stops.
When is the best time to book a yacht charter in Menorca?
The best time to book a yacht charter in Menorca is June to September, with June and September usually giving the nicest balance of warm weather, swimmable water, and a calmer feel.
Long-term climate data shows daytime highs around 25 to 28°C across those months, sea temperatures around 22.3°C in June, rising to about 25.6 to 26.7°C in July and August, plus roughly 8 to 11 hours of sunshine a day. Based on average rain days, that roughly works out to about 22 to 28 mostly bright days in a typical month.
What are the most recommended yacht charter itineraries in Menorca and its surroundings?
The cleanest Menorca itinerary is a clockwise or anti-clockwise island loop starting in Mahón. A classic week runs Mahón, Es Castell, Es Grau, Fornells, Ciutadella, Cala Galdana, Binibequer, then back to Mahón. For shorter charters, split the island by mood.
Choose the south coast for turquoise water and beach hopping around Cala Mitjana and Cala Turqueta, or the north coast for a wilder route with Fornells and Cala Pregonda. That keeps the pace elegant instead of rushed.
Which beaches are best experienced by sea?
The beaches that shine most from the water are Cala Macarella and Macarelleta, Cala en Turqueta, Cala Mitjana, and Cala Pregonda. Macarella and Mitjana are known for clear shallows and pine-backed cliffs, while Turqueta stands out for its fine white sand and bright blue water.
Pregonda gives you a completely different north coast look, with red sand and striking rock formations. Reaching these by yacht makes the approach far more beautiful and far less tiring than arriving only by land.
Which exclusive yacht clubs are in Menorca?
The three yacht clubs most worth knowing in Menorca are Club Marítimo de Mahón, Club Nàutic Ciutadella, and Club Nàutic Fornells. Club Marítimo de Mahón is the standout for larger yachts. It can fit mega yachts up to 50 metres.
Club Nàutic Ciutadella is the key west coast club in the island’s old capital, while Club Nàutic Fornells gives you a quieter northern base with moorings and basic marina services.
Where are the most exceptional restaurants?
For refined dining after a day on the water, start with El Rais in Mahón for its terrace over the moorings and polished Menorcan cooking. Sa Pedrera d’es Pujol near Sant Lluís is a strong choice for elevated local food, while Torralbenc Menorca suits a longer lunch or dinner in a vineyard setting.
In Ciutadella, Smoix is one of the smartest tables. For something more fashion-forward, Godai pairs marina views with Japanese Menorcan cuisine, and Es Cranc in Fornells is a classic for seafood and lobster stew.
