Caribbean Catamaran Charter: OKINAWA & SAIDEIRA - Charter&Dreams

OKINAWA and SAIDEIRA: Two Crewed Catamarans for a Caribbean Charter

Five double cabins for a holiday with friends, or a flexible four-cabin layout for a family who want to spend much of the week in the water? OKINAWA and SAIDEIRA offer two appealing ways to explore the Caribbean under sail.

Both catamarans have three crew to look after the sailing, meals and service. The differences lie in the accommodation and the spaces and equipment your group will use each day. Here is a closer look at life aboard each yacht.

OKINAWA Catamaran: Five cabins for ten guests

OKINAWA is a Fountaine Pajot Samana 59 built in 2024. Her five double cabins accommodate up to ten guests, with air conditioning and a private bathroom in each. For five couples travelling together, that means everyone can stay aboard the same yacht without anyone taking a sofa bed in the saloon.

Her outdoor areas give the group several places to gather. Breakfast can be served at the aft dining table, followed by time in the forward lounge while the crew gets ready to sail. The flybridge offers another place to sit together and watch the islands come into view.

At anchor, the hydraulic swim platform brings the water close to life aboard. Paddleboards, a sea scooter, waterskis and a wakeboard give guests a choice of activities between beach visits and meals prepared by the chef. Some may head out with the tender while others stay aboard with a book.

OKINAWA is particularly worth considering for a larger family or a group of couples who are comfortable sharing double beds. With five double cabins, the sleeping arrangement is straightforward; a group needing separate beds should discuss its requirements before choosing her.

SAIDEIRA Catamaran: Flexible cabins and plenty to do on the water

Delivered in 2025, SAIDEIRA is a Moon 60 with accommodation for eight guests in four air-conditioned cabins, each with its own bathroom. One cabin converts to twin beds, a useful option for children, siblings or friends who prefer to sleep separately.

The saloon opens towards the forward and aft decks, so there is an easy flow between the indoor living area and the outdoor spaces. Guests can dine on the aft deck or flybridge, then find a seat on the foredeck as the day slows down.

Her water toys are a particular draw. Alongside paddleboards and sea scooters, SAIDEIRA carries a Tiwal sailing dinghy, an eFoil, windsurfing equipment, waterskis and towables. A group keen to try different activities can spend much of an anchorage day around the yacht, returning aboard for lunch before heading out again.

This makes SAIDEIRA an interesting choice for an active family or a group of eight friends. Tell the crew which activities matter most when planning the charter, so suitable equipment and any instruction can be arranged for the people taking part.

Choosing your Caribbean cruising area

The British Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands feature in both yachts’ winter 2026/27 programmes. These cruising areas offer different ways to balance sailing, beach visits and time ashore; the yacht’s position and your dates determine where the holiday can begin.

OKINAWA also lists Windward Islands cruising and a Bahamas programme from April 2027. SAIDEIRA’s programme includes the Grenadines earlier in the winter, followed by the BVI and Leeward Islands from mid-February through June 2027. The Bahamas and these Caribbean island groups are separate route choices, each needing its own charter plan.

For inspiration, our Caribbean yacht charter itinerary explores routes from Tortola, while our Bahamas destination guide introduces a different landscape of cays and shallow-water cruising.

Which catamaran suits your group?

Start with the sleeping arrangements. OKINAWA’s five doubles make her a strong option for ten guests sharing as couples. SAIDEIRA accommodates eight, with a convertible twin cabin that adds flexibility for families and mixed groups.

Then think about the week itself. Both yachts offer outdoor dining, spaces to relax and water activities. OKINAWA has room for the larger party; SAIDEIRA’s sailing dinghy, eFoil and varied toy collection will appeal to guests who want to try several activities during the trip.

FAQs About Crewed Catamaran Charters in the Caribbean

What is included in the charter rate?

OKINAWA’s weekly rate starts from US$47,000 for two to four guests and rises to US$53,000 for ten. It includes all meals, a standard bar and fuel for up to four hours a day of engine and tender use, with a recommended 5% APA for extras. SAIDEIRA’s winter rate starts from €41,000 per week plus a 30% APA, and there is also an inclusive package in US dollars. Your broker will explain which option suits your group best.

What is the APA?

The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an amount paid in advance to the captain to cover expenses during the charter, such as food, drinks, fuel or port fees, depending on what the rate includes. The captain keeps a record of every expense, and any unused balance is returned at the end of the trip.

Are OKINAWA and SAIDEIRA suitable for families with children?

Catamarans tend to feel steady at anchor and offer plenty of deck space, which many families appreciate. SAIDEIRA carries children’s windsurf rigs and water skis, while OKINAWA’s hydraulic swim platform makes getting in and out of the water easy. The crew will advise on safety and water activities for younger guests.

What water toys are available on OKINAWA and SAIDEIRA?

OKINAWA carries paddleboards, a sea scooter, water skis, a wakeboard, snorkelling gear and towables. SAIDEIRA’s collection is larger: an eFoil, a Tiwal sailing dinghy, windsurf rigs for adults and children, sea scooters, paddleboards, water skis and towables. Use of the equipment is subject to the crew’s safety guidance.

Can guests have separate beds on SAIDEIRA?

SAIDEIRA has one cabin that can be arranged with twin beds instead of a double, which is useful for children, siblings or friends sharing. Charter & Dreams can request the twin set-up before embarkation, so the cabin is ready when you arrive.

Can the crew cater for dietary requirements?

The crew on OKINAWA and SAIDEIRA can review your food preferences, allergies and dietary requirements before the charter. Share these with your broker, who will pass them on to the yacht’s team and confirm what can be accommodated.

Is there Wi-Fi on board?

OKINAWA offers Starlink internet at an additional charge, and your broker can confirm the current data packages before you travel. For SAIDEIRA, ask your broker about the connectivity options available on board.
