Ionian Islands

     The warm climate, the cool mediterranean sea, the rolling mountains, the lush greenery inland, the zesty gastronomy and the friendly locals. What’s not to love about the Ionian Islands?

Scattered across the west coast of Greece, these twelve islands,  small and large, are composed of Zakynthos, Ithaca, Corfu (Kerkyra), Kefalonia, Lefkada, and Paxi are the six, large Ionian Islands. Antipaxi, Erikousa, Mathraki, Othoni, Meganisi and the uninhabited tiny islands of Strofades south of Zakynthos.

The ideal place for an adventurous holiday as well as some much needed rest and relaxation.

What is more, the picture perfect image of the Ionian Islands are perfectly combined with a delectable gastronomy, a multitude of sights, historical monuments and cultural events to take part in. The cooler climate of these islands is thanks to the sea breeze. Abundant in lush olive and cypress trees, these islands are defined as more green version of the greek islands.The french, british and venetian influences can be seen through the architecture.

Once part of ancient Greece, these islands share a stunningly similar jagged outlines and towering mountain ranges, which too were once part of the Pindos mountain range of Central Greece. With the greatest depth in all of the mediterranean, these islands are stunningly unique. 

Cruise over to some of the lesser known coves and dive off to enjoy a leisure swim or snorkel to discover the marine life that lives below the sea level.
