Split, the second largest city after Zagreb, is a spectacular destination by charter yacht. A more low key place town than Dubrovnik, Split is defined by its grand historical past, ruled by many empires, including the Roman and Austro-Hungarian Empire which is greatly reflected in its culture and architecture. The old city is one of the oldest in the world, where you can wind through the cobblestone streets and take in the site of the sparkling coastline as you stand towering over the sea. With many beautiful islands within close proximity, Split also serves as a great point to begin a yacht charter journey.

Making your way down from the old town, be sure to stop and view  Diocletian’s Palace, a glorious citadel, which serves as a marvelous landmark of the past. Roaming the Old Town’s streets, make sure to stop off at Peristyle square, which is the central square of the Palace, made up of red granite pillars and stair that lead you to Jupiter’s temple. Timeless and historically rich, Split if a true gem. Once back in the harbor, you can enjoy a spectacular light mediterranean meal and a cocktail on board as you watch the shimmering sunset. In the evening, you can hop off board to walk along The Riva, the famous port of Split. Perhaps even stopping for a dessert or a drink at one of their many restaurants and bars.

The beaches of Split are one of the fascinating parts,  Bačvice Beach is one of the best beaches in Split, Croatia. For a more luxurious experience, navigate over to the beaches of  Kašjuni, where you can also rent a sun lounge and be served by the local restaurants as you lounge and soak up the sun. With the privacy you have on board, perhaps you wish to cruise over to some of the lesser-known coves that the captain can guide you to. Here, you will feel as if you have all of Split to yourself. The allure of croatia exists within the beauty and endless sparkling coastlines.
