It allows you to enjoy the destination from both land and sea. All of the charters booked through Charter & Dreams are tailor-made to each of our clients' wishes, with the crew providing the best service at all times. Once you have decided on a destination, together with you and the Captain we will create the perfect cruising itinerary. Rest assured that your privacy on board is guaranteed at all times and the Captain will be able to choose remote anchorages and beaches.
Booking a yacht through a company and broker that is associated to MYBA, guarantees you, that you are working with a professional broker with high proficiency levels, providing special insurances, contracts, procedures, and security at all times. MYBA The Worldwide Yachting Association is an internationally renowned professional organization, founded in 1984, whose members are involved at all levels within the Superyacht Industry. The MYBA contract is the most common contract used by all companies associated to MYBA.
The contract has been developed by Maritime Lawyers over the past 20 years and guarantees both our clients and the owners of the yachts that all eventualities are covered at all stages.
Once you have chosen the perfect yacht with your broker and the contract is signed, the first Instalment (50% of the Charter Fee) is due for payment. The remaining 50%, VAT and APA are due one-month prior commencement of your charter.
In the case that the contract is signed one month or less prior commencement of the charter, the complete funds, VAT, and APA are due for payment.
APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a payment that is done in order for the crew to provision the yacht before you board with food, drinks, fuel, etc. The average APA is usually between 30-35% of the Charter Fee. The Captain will keep an overview of the costs at all times and will provide you with the final accounts at the end of the charter.
You can also check your accounts with the Captain at all times during the charter. In the event that there is an amount due in your favor, you will be refunded with the amount to the account of your choice. In the event that there is an amount due to the yacht, payment will have to be arranged prior to disembarkation.
Crew Tips are customary but at our clients' discretion. In the event that you were happy with everything on board, the crew and the service provided, the customary gratuity is between 10 and 15% of the Charter Fee. You can either take care of this directly with the Captain or once you have disembarked through us.
Once the contract has been signed, depending on the time frame in advance of the charter, we start working on the itinerary and preferences sheets with our clients.
The Preference Sheet is a very important tool for the crew to prepare the yacht and their service for each of their guests, so everything is as personalized as possible.
It is very important for the crew to know about any allergies, food dislikes etc. We therefore recommend all of our clients to take the time and complete the Preferences as detailed as possible.
