Beschreibung

KARIBU was built in GRP by Oyster Yachts to a design by Rob Humphreys and launched in 2013 as the second hull in the shipyard’s Oyster 885 flagship series. KARIBU is a sloop with a Hall Spars carbon mast, Future Fibres ECSix Carbon standard rigging (new 2022), and a furling boom.

KARIBU underwent an extensive refit which was completed in May 2022, during which no stone was left unturned. The EUR 2m+ refit saw KARIBU receive a new EC6 carbon rig, new hull paint, new interior upholsteries, the latest onboard IT/ AV systems and a new 4.35m jet tender.

The contemporary interior was beautifully re-designed in 2022 by the multi-award-winning interior superyacht stylists Design Unlimited, UK. The yachts vibrant colours and use of luxurious materials truly make KARIBU a standout example in her class.

The master cabin on board KARIBU is positioned aft and is filled with natural light thanks to Oyster’s signature „triple seascape“ windows, while a raised main saloon benefits from wraparound windows offering views of the surrounding environment. A U-shaped sofa sits to starboard with expandable coffee tables on a rise-and-fall mechanism that allows the space to double as an interior dining area. Bespoke timber furniture was fitted during the interior overhaul as well as a new bar with a wine fridge, ice maker and glass cabinetry.

With four comfortable cabins, KARIBU sleeps 8 guests and offers the perfect set-up for two families with children or a group of friends or relatives. Four crew are comfortably accommodated in 2 cabins. The captain’s cabin is currently configured with a double berth, however an additional bunk can be fitted as required to accommodate a twin cabin configuration.

One of her many features is a split cockpit – perfect for al fresco dining and relaxation underway – and her spacious, open deck areas, extended by a large hydraulic bathing platform to give easy access to the water for swimming and boarding the tender. The main tender is stored in a well on the foredeck which, with the tender in the water, becomes a recessed lounge area complete with a brightly coloured sun pad and cushions.

KARIBU is MCA Cat2 commercially compliant and has already proven exceptionally popular during the Mediterranean and Caribbean charter seasons.
